Drawing is a way of leading a reflective life. It takes time to draw: to see and understand and eventually to love. Drawing uses the most simple tools: a mark maker and a surface. Drawing reveals the first impulse of the artist, the idea at its most elemental. As long as I can see, I’ll draw. Although I use a camera for some information, the camera usually lies, so it’s merely a minor tool. There is nothing like drawing (and painting) from life.
